Two dominant backs in Tyrice Douglas and Bradley Brown Jr. are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Southern Lee Cavaliers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Lee County Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Southern Lee will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
Southern Lee gave up the first points last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They strolled past Union Pines with points to spare, taking the game 40-21.
Meanwhile, Lee County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 56-21 loss at the hands of Scotland.
Despite their defeat, Lee County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Terrance Mckendall, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Jack Martin was another key contributor, rushing for 42 yards and a touchdown.
Southern Lee now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lee County, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.
Southern Lee came up short against Lee County in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 26-22. Will Southern Lee have more luck at home instead of on the road?
