Mt. Baldy recap September 17, 2013
Montclair scaled the state rankings by moving to 608 from 711 this week, the biggest jump in Mt. Baldy. The Cavaliers were able to make move up by besting Duarte 38-14.
Garey fell to Barstow 36-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Daniel Cevallos put up the best numbers in passing as Montclair bested the Falcons. He finished with 9 completions for 195 yards. Cevallos' favorite target this week was Guillermo Alvizo, who caught 3 passes for 74 yards.
Kyle Curry was the best receiver in the league this week as Colony lost to Carter. Curry tallied 12 receptions for 112 yards. Zachery Fields helped Colony's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 28 yards.
Stephon Randolph was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 133 yards on 16 carries as Ontario fell to the Lions. Edgar Murillo also contributed to the rushing game with 55 yards on the ground.
Josh Jimenez made the biggest impact on defense this week as T.J. Fiorenza's team topped Duarte. The 6-foot-0 senior.
On the heels of Jonathan Trucks and Devan Imbach, Colony has had great success on offense. Trucks is tops in the league in passing with 572 yards, while Imbach has rushed for 394 yards this season. The Jaguars' Robert Butanda leads the league in receiving yards with 246 on 11 catches.
The Cavaliers led Mt. Baldy in scoring this week by notching 38 points on Jason Martin's team. Cevallos ran for 23 yards during the win.
