The Pineville Rebels will face off against the Winnfield Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pineville barely beat Southside the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rebels blew past the Sharks 14-5 on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Rebels as they're now sitting on six straight.
Ava Moore was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Jackson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Pineville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Winnfield owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Converse as they made off with a 9-0 victory. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-18-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Not much got past Kaylee Vercher, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Converse off the board.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Karley Caskey, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles were her first of the season. Kaylie Callender was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
Pineville's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Winnfield, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Pineville got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Winnfield by a conclusive 15-0 score. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
