Campbell County fell just short of Powell by a score of 35-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Campbell County has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Campbell County lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Saylor Hutcheson. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with three steals. Hutcheson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lacey Pemberton, who scored eight points.
Campbell County's loss dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Powell, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season.
Campbell County will be playing at home against Karns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Campbell County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. As for Powell, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Knoxville Central at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Powell is coming into the game with four straight wins on the road, so Knoxville Central is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
