Idaho Falls is 2-8 against Blackfoot since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tigers will host the Broncos at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Idaho Falls took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Hillcrest as they made off with a 14-3 victory.

Makai Ferguson was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Idaho Falls' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-15 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cooper Cammack, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Idaho Falls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Blackfoot came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Russets. That's two games straight that the Broncos have won by exactly five runs.
Easton Cannon made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Cannon was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jason Williams, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Weston Layton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Blackfoot's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Idaho Falls, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Idaho Falls has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blackfoot struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Idaho Falls might still be hurting after the 13-3 defeat they got from Blackfoot in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
