Harding Academy took down Tipton-Rosemark Academy 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Lions led Division II A - West District 1 in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on the Rebels.
Southern Baptist's dynamic duo of Pk Pearson and Samuel Kail proved tough for St. George's to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pearson threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns and Kail had 130 yards receiving. Drew Fowler helped Southern Baptist's passing attack out by catching eight balls for 109 yards.
Fowler made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Trojans fell to the Gryphons. The 5-foot-10 junior grabbed two interceptions.
Wesley Campbell was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 69 yards as First Assembly Christian fell to St. George's. Kortney Morris also contributed to the rushing game with 66 yards on the ground.
The Trojans' Pearson and Grant Kimberlin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pearson has thrown for 1382 yards this season, while Kimberlin, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 44 catches for 631 yards. The Crusaders' Morris leads the league in rushing yards with 337.
A big matchup in Division II A - West District 1 this week will be when Southern Baptist takes on First Assembly Christian. The Trojans are currently in fourth, while Robby Donaldson's team is in second.
There should be lots of points scored when Southern Baptist and the Crusaders face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Trojans comes in having scored 214 this season, while First Assembly Christian has scored 139. Southern Baptist scored 17 points last week as it lost to Brent Hill's team.
The Crusaders made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,317 from 9,699. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 31-14 victory over Rossville Christian Academy last week.
