It was a good run, but The Muncie Central Bearcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Beech Grove at home by a decisive 42-28 margin.
Loss or not, Muncie Central got some senior leadership from Leo Boyd who rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries and De?markis Cole who picked up 139 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Cole's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beech Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremiah Lee, who rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 65 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Lee is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarron Murry jr., who picked up 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Muncie Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Beech Grove, their win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-6.
Muncie Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Beech Grove will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Vernon will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
