Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Chapmanville Regional walked away with it. They managed a 33-27 victory over the Bridgeport Indians on Saturday. The win was just business as usual for the Tigers, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chapmanville Regional to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dakota Dalton, who threw for 265 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. Those 265 passing yards gave Dalton a new career-high. Chapmanville Regional's leading receiver Trey Ward was Dalton's top target yet again, picking up 131 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Chapmanville Regional's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Bridgeport, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.
Looking ahead, Chapmanville Regional will head out to take on Nitro at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 9.7, the Wildcats 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Bridgeport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
