It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Trinity Lutheran Cougars ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Henryville 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Hudson Lang was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Levi Pottschmidt, who scored 13 points.
When it comes to explaining why Henryville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aydan Head. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 25 rebounds. Head is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Hayden Barbour was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Trinity Lutheran's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Henryville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing New Washington the next time they take the court. Henryville will head out to face New Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Trinity Lutheran will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
