The Roosevelt Teddies will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Lester Prairie Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Roosevelt unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by Eden Prairie 72-35. While losing is never fun, Roosevelt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Eden Prairie is ranked sixth).
Roosevelt's loss came about despite a quality game from Cady Davis, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaida Walker, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 60 points the game before, Lester Prairie were a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They were outmatched by St. Mary's at home and fell 70-0. That was the first shutout Lester Prairie has experienced all year.
Roosevelt's loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3. As for Lester Prairie, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
