The Port Allegany Gators will venture away from home to square off against the DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Port Allegany is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Last Friday, Port Allegany made easy work of Smethport and carried off a 15-2 win. Considering the Gators have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Nicholas Wilfong made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.
In other batting news, Levi Howard was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Chase Boyd, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Port Allegany always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smethport only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, DuBois Central Catholic entered their tilt with Moniteau last Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 4-1. That's two games straight that the Cardinals have won by exactly three runs.
DuBois Central Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Himes, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Evan Burton also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Port Allegany pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for DuBois Central Catholic, their record is now 16-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Port Allegany has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like DuBois Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
