There's no place like home for the Morton Potters, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 49-30 win over Canton on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Morton also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Several Little Giants players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Allison Wheeler, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Ella Demler, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Morton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Canton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-6.
Morton will be playing at home against Mahomet-Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mahomet-Seymour will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Morton is ranked 29th). As for Canton, they will face off against Orr at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Orr focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
