4A District 2 recap October 8, 2013
Neville added to the longest winning streak in 4A District 2 this week by beating Airline, 30-20. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Tigers.
Bastrop led the league in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on Rayville. Christian Doaty threw for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.
He went 9-15 with 1 interception.
Kylon Highshaw was the best receiver in the league this week as Neville topped the Vikings. Highshaw tallied 4 receptions for 125 yards.
Bastrop's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Doaty has thrown for 1,174 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Jamari Payne has 32 catches for 516 yards.
A big matchup in 4A District 2 this week will be when Mickey Mccarty's team takes on Franklin Parish. The Tigers are in first place, while the Patriots are in third place.
Wossman made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,486 from 6,472. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 13-0 victory over Northwest last week.
