Princeton won the last time they faced Goldsboro and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Cougars 11-1. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Andrew Allnutt made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Allnutt was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Evan Pate was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Branson Flynn, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Princeton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goldsboro only posted an OBP of .300.
Princeton's record now sits at 10-4. As for Goldsboro, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-10 record.
