The Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 67-24 loss at the hands of Kent Denver. Despite the defeat, Eagle Ridge Academy had strong showings from Madi DiLorenzo, who dropped a double-double on 13 rebounds and ten blocks, and Jaz Greenwood, who scored nine points along with five assists and two steals. Greenwood is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Kent Denver's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaylah Miller, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. Miller also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Duncan, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Eagle Ridge Academy's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.3 points per game. As for Kent Denver, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eagle Ridge Academy and The Academy will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Allowing an average of 50.2 points per game, The Academy has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup. As for Kent Denver, they will head out on the road to face off against Peak to Peak at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Peak to Peak focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
