Baseball Recap: Edinburgh Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Edinburgh, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lancers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Cole White and Avynn Whitaker made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, White pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Whitaker tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. White also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Edinburgh is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-14 otherwise. At the plate, White went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Whitaker got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits White has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Rylan Londeree was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Brayden Schoettmer also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Edinburgh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Edinburgh's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-15. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-1.

Edinburgh has already played their next match, a 5-1 loss against Morristown on the 28th. Indiana School for the Deaf has also already played their next game (against Crothersville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
