While Southern's win against Wellsville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Tigers 12-11 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Addy Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Southern got a massive performance out of Raelea Carosiello, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Makenna Jones was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Southern pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for Wellsville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern will host Beaver Local at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wellsville, they will challenge Jefferson County Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
