The Maury Commodores can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game  on Friday. They took their  contest at home  with ease, bagging a  65-15 win over Churchland. That  65-15 margin sets a new team best for Maury this season.
 Maury got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Myla  Parker out in front who  scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Nyla  Brown, who  scored 14 points.
 Maury's victory  ended a four-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 1-3. As for Churchland, they  still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maury won't have much time to rest: their next  contest is against Western Branch at 1:30  p.m.  on December 16th. Western Branch presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Maury in Virginia (Western Branch is ranked 68th, while Maury is ranked 343rd). Churchland will be home for the holidays to greet  Norcom at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Norcom is hoping to put an end to  a three-game streak of away losses.
