Bay took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Trumann, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Yellowjackets won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Yellowjackets: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in March, they had to take a 11-1 defeat.

Jaden Dacus was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Bay let Cade Spencer and Jacob Willard run wild. Spencer went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one RBI, while Willard went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Spencer has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Will Cossey, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Bay and bumps their season record up to 3-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Trumann, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bay will challenge Manila at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Trumann, they will take on West Memphis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
