Berry is 2-8 against Olympic since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Berry Cardinal will head out on the road to face off against the Olympic Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Olympic took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Berry, who comes in off a win.
Berry posted their closest win yet this season last Wednesday. They skirted past West Mecklenburg 64-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Savion Kinard was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jamiere Joyner was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Olympic's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a tough 58-35 defeat at the hands of Myers Park. Olympic has not had much luck with Myers Park recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Berry's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11. As for Olympic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Berry was taken down by Olympic 85-30 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Berry was down 58-13.
