While Baxter Springs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 17-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Field Kindley Golden Tornado 3-0 on Thursday. The contest marked the Lions' most dominant victory of the season so far.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-13, 25-21.

Kierstan Burggraf paced Baxter Springs' offense, picking up 11 kills. Burggraf got some help from Sam Sheffer and her 30 assists. Sheffer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Baxter Springs is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Field Kindley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9-2.

Looking ahead, Baxter Springs will square off against Crest on Saturday. As for Field Kindley, they will challenge Yates Center on Saturday.
