The Mountain Crest Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 77-58 victory over Hunter. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Mountain Crest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaden Hess out in front who scored 28 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hess has scored at least 25% of Mountain Crest's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Arnell, who scored 19 points.
Mountain Crest has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Hunter, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Mountain Crest will head out on the road to face off against Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Logan will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Hunter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Jordan is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
