The Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners struggled with assists on Saturday (the Green Valley Gators had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Southeast Career Tech fell 53-46 to Green Valley. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southeast Career Tech in their matchups with Green Valley: they've now lost six in a row.
Southeast Career Tech's loss came despite strong showings from Bianca Vazquez and Zykira Robinson. Vazquez scored 22 points along with six rebounds, while Robinson dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Vazquez scored a full 47.8% of Southeast Career Tech's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Green Valley was led to victory by Amelia Rawhouser and Gianessa Vazquez. Rawhouser scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Vazquez scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Patai, who scored seven points.
Southeast Career Tech has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Green Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-12.
Southeast Career Tech will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Valley at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Wednesday. As for Green Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Boulder City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Boulder City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
