Alhambra was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Acalanes only posted a batting average of .160.
College Park couldn't beat Benicia on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Falcons fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The Falcons have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Alexis Weiler made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Sparks, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
College Park's loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Alhambra, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.
College Park's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Alhambra has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for College Park, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Alhambra's sizable advantage in that area, the Falcons will need to find a way to close that gap.
