The Mississinewa Indians will challenge the Northfield Norsemen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mississinewa is returning to their home field after beating Madison-Grant on theirs, despite the fact Madison-Grant has dominated at home this season. The Indians narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Argylls 3-1. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly two runs.
Kavion Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Mississinewa's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Seth Yoder, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Yoder is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.
Meanwhile, Northfield can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over Whitko.
The team relied heavily on Korbin Haupert, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
The victory made it two in a row for Mississinewa and bumps their season record up to 8-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Northfield, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mississinewa has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Northfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Mississinewa's way against Northfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Mississinewa made off with a 17-3 victory. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Norsemen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
