On Friday, West Lafayette humbled River Forest with a 42-13 victory. The result was nothing new for West Lafayette, who have now won five contests by 29 points or more so far this season.
West Lafayette was led to victory by Carson Kitchel and Dawson Martin. Kitchel threw for 168 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes, while Martin rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns. Martin is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Benny Speaker, who picked up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, River Forest still got an impressive performance from Ayden Silver, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 126 yards and a touchdown. Silver's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.
West Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for River Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
West Lafayette will head out on the road to face off against Rensselaer Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rensselaer Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 181 points over their last four matchups. River Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
