Meyersdale can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 win over Salisbury Elk Lick. The win was just what Meyersdale needed coming off of a 77-39 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Southern Fulton struggled with assists on Friday (McConnellsburg had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Southern Fulton suffered a rough 53-30 defeat at the hands of McConnellsburg. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southern Fulton in their matchups with McConnellsburg: they've now lost four in a row.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Hunter Ward and Dom Jefferson. Jefferson had a great game and scored 24 points along with three steals. Meanwhile, Ward did his best for the losing side, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Southern Fulton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meyersdale's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-19. As for Southern Fulton, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Meyersdale was taken down by Southern Fulton 55-26 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Meyersdale, Dane Harvey (who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
