The St. Paul Indians and the Oswego Indians will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Paul is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
St. Paul suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 53-26 loss at the hands of Humboldt. While losing is never fun, St. Paul can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Humboldt is ranked 120th).
Meanwhile, Oswego's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The match between Oswego and Jayhawk Linn wasn't particularly close, with Oswego falling 44-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Oswego has scored all season.
St. Paul's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Oswego, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
St. Paul came up short against Oswego when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 55-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Oswego's Owen Jackson, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Now that St. Paul knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
