The Broomfield Eagles entered their tilt with the Heritage Eagles with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Broomfield walked away with a 28-19 victory over Heritage on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Broomfield, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Broomfield was led to victory by Darien Jackson and Anthony Cobb. Jackson threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only ten passes, while Cobb picked up 154 receiving yards and a touchdown. Cobb's longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards. Broomfield also got a significant boost from Caleb Meehan, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
Heritage's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jett Balika, who gained 111 total yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Tanner Terch, who picked up 108 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Broomfield's victory was their 14th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points per game. As for Heritage, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.
Broomfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Heritage also has no future games currently scheduled.
