RITTMAN, Ohio -
Bo Whetsell ran for two touchdowns and
Bailey Breitenstine added two as well as
Chippewa (Doylestown, Ohio) defeated Rittman (Ohio) 53-14 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Stoney Epling to Breitenstine in the first quarter, the Chipps led 33-7 at the half.
Chippewa expanded its lead to 40 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Whetsell touchdown run.
The Doylestown school got revenge for last year's 7-0 loss to the Indians with the victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Chipps, who were coming off a 28-14 defeat at the hands of Northwestern in its previous game. The loss was the third in a row for Rittman.
Rittman (1-4) goes up against Dalton in a Wayne County game matchup next week, while Chippewa (3-2) locks horns with Norwayne also in a Wayne County game.
