The Carrollton Hawks can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Jersey 41-38. This was payback for Carrollton, who suffered a 76-56 loss the last time these two teams met.
Jersey's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John paul Vogel, who scored eight points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Brunaugh, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Carrollton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-15. As for Jersey, they dropped their record down to 10-18 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Carrollton will challenge Calhoun at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jersey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Waterloo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Jersey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
