AA Region VI recap November 19, 2013
Bishop England extended the longest winning streak in AA Region VI this week by beating Andrews, 30-0. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Bishop England made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,141 from 3,654. The improvement was the result of a 30-0 victory over the Yellowjackets last week.
Ridgeland/Hardeeville's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Derrell Myers threw for 28 yards and Shemar Taylor had 10 yards receiving. On the ground Marquis Griffin chipped in 13 yards. Gavin Bush helped Ridgeland/Hardeeville's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 16 yards.
Myers put up the best numbers through the air as the Jaguars lost to Loris. Myers' favorite target this week was Taylor, who caught 2 passes for 10 yards.
Ridgeland/Hardeeville's Myers and Bush led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Myers has thrown for 1,214 yards this season, while Bush has 44 catches for 737 yards. Academic Magnet's Nate Schlosser leads the league in rushing yards with 1,323.
John Cantey's team led the league in scoring this week by notching 30 points on Andrews.
