Jayden Barr Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Eastside's Jayden Barr, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Barr made six total tackles and defended a pass. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.2 rushing touchdowns per game. He didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended a pass.
Eastside moved to 7-1 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak. Barr and Eastside will take on East Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Emadd Howard's rushing tear continued on Thursday as he dropped his eighth-straight game with 126+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns.
For the year, Howard has run in 17 touchdowns while averaging 194.2 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had nine rushing touchdowns.

Brock Szakacs Delivers Best Effort of Season
Brock Szakacs produced his most outstanding game to date while leading East Forsyth to the win on Thursday. Szakacs threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 81 yards on only six carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 57 yards.
The victory (which was East Forsyth's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Szakacs' next game is against Eastside on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

The second Eastside player making an appearance here is Myles Mims, and for good reason. He rushed for 110 yards on only nine carries.

Bailey Benson Turns in Another Game with at Least Eight Total Tackles
Sadly, Bailey Benson posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Eastside over North Oconee on Friday. Benson wasn't messing around, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles. The match was his third straight with eight or more total tackles dating back to last season.
On the year, Benson has averaged 6.2 total tackles per game and for the season has 2 sacks. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one sack.
