St. Margaret's has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Saddleback Roadrunners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Margaret's is not getting complacent, as they comes into the match much higher ranked than Saddleback in California (St. Margaret's is ranked 337th, while Saddleback is ranked 1030th).
Last Friday, St. Margaret's humbled Costa Mesa with a 45-12 victory. St. Margaret's pushed the score to 38-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Costa Mesa had no chance of recovering from.
Matt Arena was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Will Viola also helped out with an impressive 94 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Saddleback, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They were beaten by Santa Ana 70-0 on Friday.
St. Margaret's' victory bumped their season record to 4-4 while Saddleback's loss dropped theirs to 0-8.
Everything came up roses for St. Margaret's against Saddleback in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 44-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Margaret's since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
