It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Lyford Bulldogs can now relate to. They were dealt a 49-20 defeat at the hands of Industrial on Thursday. It was the first time this season that Lyford let down their fans at home.
When it comes to explaining why Lyford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aiden Olivas. Despite the final result, he threw for 418 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown. Adrian Chavez was another key contributor, picking up 156 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Lyford's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Industrial, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Lyford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Industrial will look to defend their home field on November 17th against Randolph at 7:00 p.m. Randolph is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
