The Crofton Warriors lost against the Cedar Catholic Trojans back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Crofton took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cedar Catholic. While losing is never fun, Crofton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Cedar Catholic is ranked 50th).
Crofton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trevor Allen, who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Seth Pinkelman, who scored 14 points.
Nolan Becker was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 21 points.
Crofton bumped their record down to 2-3 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cedar Catholic, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crofton will square off against Niobrara/Verdigre at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Niobrara/Verdigre is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Cedar Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against South Sioux City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
