The Trego Golden Eagles won the last time they faced the Ellis Railroaders, and things went their way on Friday too. Trego walked away with a 40-27 victory over the Railroaders.
Trego's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reece Smith led the charge by scoring ten points along with six rebounds. Annabelle Malsam was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Trego has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Ellis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
Trego will head out on the road to take on the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoxie is on a seven-game streak of home wins, the Golden Eagles a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Ellis will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
