North Fremont has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Ririe Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Fremont's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Last Friday, North Fremont blew past Firth, posting a 38-6 win at home. The result was nothing new for North Fremont, who have now won six matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Ririe ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 12-6 victory over West Jefferson. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Ririe was the better team in the second half.
The critical scores for Ririe came from Aaron Martinez and Ian Johnson.
Ririe's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB nine times. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Their wins bumped North Fremont to 6-1 and Ririe to 3-3.
Everything came up roses for North Fremont against Ririe when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 46-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Fremont since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
