On Tuesday, The Bonny Eagle Scots faced the Windham Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bonny Eagle enjoyed a cozy 35-21 victory over Windham. Winning may never get old, but Bonny Eagle sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Terrell Edwards was his usual excellent self, rushing for 126 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Edwards is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Connor McAvoy, who picked up 47 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Bonny Eagle's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Windham, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonny Eagle will challenge Noble at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maine (Noble is ranked 13th, while Bonny Eagle is ranked sixth). As for Windham, they will head out on the road to face off against Oxford Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Oxford Hills is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
