Softball Recap: Sunset Has No Trouble Against Beaverton

After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Sunset brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Everything went their way against the Beaverton Beavers on Monday as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Apollos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Sydney Arnold was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Pe?a, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Claire Hattendorf was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Sunset's record now sits at 22-4. As for Beaverton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.

Sunset will take on McNary at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beaverton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
