The Scotland Highlanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight defeat. They were beaten by Freeman 81-16. Scotland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-9.
It was another big night for Ashlin Jacobsen, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 1 assist for Freeman. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jacobsen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Peters, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals.
Scotland's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.4 points per game. As for Freeman, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotland will take on the Black Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freeman, they will be playing at home against the Cubs at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Alcester-Hudson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Flyers are ranked 33rd).
