The Clifton Mustangs will take on the Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Clifton will be strutting in after a win while Dwight Morrow will be coming in after a loss.
Clifton barely beat Bergen Tech the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 13-2 victory on Wednesday. The Mustangs not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 15-2).

Trevor Rascher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Clifton is 5-2 when Rascher allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-14 otherwise. Rascher was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bobby Cross, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Jaycob Irizarry, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Clifton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bergen Tech only posted an OBP of .318.
Meanwhile, Dwight Morrow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to Dumont.
Dwight Morrow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adonis Rosario, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Dwight Morrow's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Clifton, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-16.
Clifton was able to grind out a solid victory over Dwight Morrow in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 9-4. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Maroon Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
