The Lancaster Red Devils will take on the Westmoreland Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lancaster knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Westmoreland likes a good challenge.
Lancaster is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Chincoteague as they made off with a 15-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Braelyn Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played.
In other batting news, Lancaster got a massive performance out of Isabella Gill, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs Gill has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ayla Saunders, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lancaster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Westmoreland was able to grind out a solid victory over Middlesex on Thursday, taking the game 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Like Lancaster, Westmoreland also got a great game from a two-way player: Emma Burgess. She struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Burgess was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Lancaster's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Westmoreland, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Westmoreland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lancaster has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .581. It's a different story for Westmoreland, though, as they've only averaged .362. Will they be able to contain Lancaster's hitters?
Lancaster took their victory against Westmoreland in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
