Make it six blowout wins for the Seaforth Hawks this season. They blew past Jordan-Matthews, posting a 63-12 victory on the road. Given Seaforth's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Jordan-Matthews is ranked 414th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seaforth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hannah Ajayi, who scored 17 points along with four blocks. That's the first time this season that Ajayi posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby White, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Despite the loss, Jordan-Matthews saw an underclassman step up: Yamilet Lozano scored five points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Jordan-Matthews struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Seaforth racked up 14 assists.
Seaforth's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Jordan-Matthews, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seaforth will take on Rolesville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Caitlyn Jones and White. As for Jordan-Matthews, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Cummings at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th.
