5A South recap October 1, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 5A South this week, White Hall beat Magnolia 35-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Bulldogs.
Watson Chapel was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fourth in the league. The Wildcats beat Hot Springs 45-0 earlier in the week.
Lakeside's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. garrett carson threw for 98 yards and clint smedley had 39 yards receiving. On the ground beau uzick chipped in 35 yards. marcus fisher helped Lakeside's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 37 yards.
Smedley was the best receiver in the league this week as the Rams lost to Fairview. Smedley racked up 3 receptions for 39 yards. Fisher helped Lakeside's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 37 yards.
Lakeside's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carson has thrown for 721 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while fisher has 13 catches for 186 yards.
The top two teams in 5A South will face off this week when first place White Hall takes on second place Fairview.
Hope made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,545 from 4,093. The advance stemmed from a 35-7 victory over De Queen last week.
