Genesee Valley extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 18-2 in the process. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Fillmore Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 back in April.

As for Fillmore, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this game were averaging 3.81 runs allowed.

For Fillmore's part, they got a good showing from Malcolm Nusbickle, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, Nusbickle didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Damon Potter and James Hillman did some serious damage despite the final result: Potter went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI, while Hillman went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Hillman has become a key player for Fillmore: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jared Boon, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Genesee Valley will host Canisteo at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fillmore, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Campbell-Savona at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
