On Monday, Gaston Christian needed a bit of extra time to put away Cary Christian. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knights, sneaking past 10-9. Gaston Christian's victory was all the more impressive since the Knights were averaging only 3.33 runs allowed on the season.
Noah Cooper was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Meridian Leffew also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
SouthLake Christian Academy came out on top against Gaston Day on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Spartans. Considering the Eagles have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jack Salony spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because SouthLake Christian Academy is 5-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-8 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Evan Hogg, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for SouthLake Christian Academy: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jackson Drayton, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
SouthLake Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The win got SouthLake Christian Academy back to even at 9-9. As for Gaston Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
