South Oldham hadn't done well against Oldham County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Dragons blew past the Colonels 12-5. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Caroline Henry made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Harper Dickerson looked comfortable as she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, South Oldham let Lucy Knabel and Addi Schrecker run wild. Knabel went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Schrecker went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most hits Knabel has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Grace Turner, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

South Oldham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oldham County only posted a batting average of .226.

The win was the fifth in a row for South Oldham, bringing their record up to 21-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Oldham County, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 26-10.

As of now, neither South Oldham nor the Colonels have any future games scheduled.
