Aspen is 0-10 against Delta since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Skiers will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. Aspen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.
Aspen will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Coal Ridge, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Skiers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Titans on Saturday, sneaking past 9-7. While the Skiers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
William Marolt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Thor Raarup was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Carter Kuhlman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Delta finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against Roaring Fork, falling 11-0.
Alex Mack got Delta off to a strong start despite the final result, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.
Aspen's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Delta, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-6.
Delta's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Aspen has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. It's a different story for Delta, though, as they've only averaged .357. Will they be able to contain Aspen's hitters?
