The Vail Christian Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 38-29 to Clear Creek. Vail Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golddiggers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Vail Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eva Soto, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Noelle Razee, who scored eight points.
Indi Crawford was nothing short of spectacular for Clear Creek: she scored 28 points. It was the first time this season that Crawford scored 15 or more points. Aerah Fulton was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 18 rebounds.
Vail Christian dropped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.8 points per game. As for Clear Creek, their win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vail Christian will square off against the Cowboys at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Plateau Valley's defense has only allowed 24.9 points per game this season, so the Saints' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Clear Creek, they will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
